RESUMO
Los artículos científicos en el campo de la salud crecen de forma exponencial; de ahí el valor de la síntesis de información y los artículos de revisión. Se estudia la importancia y necesidad de la síntesis y de los artículos de revisión como vía para facilitar el acceso a la información. Se definen los tipos de síntesis de información y sus lectores, así como los tipos de artículos de revisión, las diferencias que existen entre ellos, sus partes y las etapas en su proceso de preparación, con énfasis en la etapa de síntesis de la información.
Scientific articles in the health field exponentially grow. That's why, the information synthesis and the review articles acquire a great value. A study is made on the importance and need of the synthesis and review articles as way to facilitate the access to information. The types of information synthesis and their readers are defined, as well as the types of review articles, the differences among them, and their parts and phases in their process of preparation, making emphasis on the phase of information synthesis.
